May with the cavalcade of the annual Riding of the Bounds, which has been held

talks and historical re-enactments celebrating the centuries-old military
heritage of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The
programme includes the Armed Forces Day Parade, band display and Beating Retreat
ceremony at the 18th century Barracks, and period encampments and re-enactments
at the Barracks, Gunpowder Magazine, Main Guard and locations around the town's
fortifications depicting the lives of soldiers of the garrison at Berwick from
the 17th century until the 1960s.
