IMBOLC FIRE FESTIVAL, MARSDEN
Annual event, usually held on the first Saturday of February. 19:00-21:00. Imbolc, pronounced "Imolc", is an ancient festival where fire represents the return of the Sun in the coming months. 1,500-strong lantern & flaming torch parade with fire-jugglers, antler-wearing drummers, Celtic characters and fire druids. Parade starts from Marsden Station HD7 6AX, and moves up Reddisher Road to Tunnel End, into Waters Road then down the hill to the Waters Edge.
