NOTTING HILL PANORAMA
Annual event held on the Saturday
of the August bank Holiday. 13:00-18:00 Horniman's
Pleasance Park, Kensal Road. Some of the UK's top steel
bands compete in the National Champions of Steel contest. Bands comprise of between 40 and 75
musicians. Participating bands (2011): Ebony,
Mangrove, Croydon Steel Orchestra, London All Stars, Caribbean Steel
International (CSI) and Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra (RASPO). Attendance
5,000. Free event.
